Falmouth Park and Float/Ride

The innovative Park and Float system has commenced in Falmouth for the second year running.  The scheme operates from the landing bay at Ponsharden, where customers can leave their cars behind and use a bus or ferry into the town instead.  The Falmouth scheme has been recognised by the Department for Transport and has been short-listed for the National Transport Award’s ‘Most Innovative Scheme 2004’.  The Park and Float carries people from the 460 space car park situated just off the main A39 route, to the centre of Falmouth and to the prestigious National Maritime Museum Cornwall.  The overall project features:

  • Seasonal Park & Ride.

  • Seasonal Park & Float.

  • Boat workshops & repairs.

  • Winter boat lay-up.

  • A new slipway giving public access to the water.

  • Winter car parking.

  • Opportunities for new boat services.

  • Creation of new jobs.
